Go Small and Stay At Home.

I think one reason that I don’t really think of myself as an artist anymore is that I just don’t have time to do anything. Single dad with 2 teens(ish), various family medical conditions to help manage, job to hold down… There is just not much time to consistently devote to getting something to a level that I’m happy to show.

Then I discovered tiny pottery and Microwave kilns. With my current skillset, I can set up, throw and clear up in an hour, and I’m getting some lovely results. Lots of explosions as well, but it’s all great fun.

I did a bit of pottery on my art foundation, slip casting, raku (in an old bin), and slab building, but no throwing; so I have nothing to build on, and I’m making it all up with the help of youtube videos.
