 Looking back, it seems that most of my work has been very carefully disguised self portraits, so last year, I set about making the ultimate self-portrait, a 1/2 size carved marionette which I could use to make all my artworks. This year, I decided it was time to give my work the status it deserves, and start painting. The piece, entitled 'Master of all I survey' is a Gainsbourgh inspired painting, but instead of reflecting the power and status of the subject, we have a puppet, with limp strings overlooking a park which is about to be dug up, and artists studios that everyone has just been kicked out of.
