I have worked with computers since 1990, starting out as a database designer. I am currently building databases on two platforms: Microsoft Access and the internet.

Access.

This standard Microsoft Office tool is great for quickly building small to medium size databases and user front ends. Using it I have created databases for a number of clients of varying sizes.

Office Procedures:
I have built Anti-Social Behavior, Complaints, Lettings and Resident Participation databases. Each database has from 5 to 25 users, which can log in separately, and work at the same time.

The databases are secure, with different levels of user security, and contain an audit trail to log user activity. The screens are easy to use and can be built to your specifications.

Data Collection and Summation:
I have built questionnaire entry systems that collect, validate and summarise data

Membership Databases:
Quick, simple membership databases can easily be created to collect, edit and manage your membership lists. Data can be imported from any source: Word lists, Spreadsheets... Mailouts, labels, letters, all can be created. Functions will be built to suit your needs.

The Internet.

Access is all well and good, but it needs to be linked on an office network if you want multiple users to have access to it. I am also skilled in online database websites. Because the data is held securely on the internet, users can access the data from any computer in the world that is connected to the internet. These sites come in two flavours: membership sites and portfolio sites...

Membership sites:
These allow registered users to logon and access special functions, like updating their personal details, or bidding for services. There is also an admin logon that allows the site owner to logon and access the membership lists and all the other functions.

For examples of membership sites I have built, please visit www.wflets.org and www.artsclub.org.uk and www.hackneyplay.org

Portfolio Sites:
These sites are for single users; artists and designers etc. The sites have an admin logon that allow the owners to logon and upload images to their portfolio database. This way the artist can keep their website to to date from any computer with internet access.
